USCIS Update on Application Fee Payments

By Jennifer Nimer

๐Ÿ›‘ Important Update from U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) ๐Ÿ›‘

๐Ÿ“† Effective October 28, 2025 — USCIS will no longer accept checks or money orders for application or petition filing fees.

โžก๏ธ From that date forward, payments must be made electronically via:
• Credit or debit card using Form G-1450
• ACH debit (bank account) using Form G-1650

๐Ÿ” If you don’t have a U.S. bank account, a prepaid credit card may be used via Form G-1450.

๐Ÿ” In limited instances, benefit requestors and third-party payors may be exempt from submitting electronic payments with their application, petition, or request. See Form G-1651, Exemption for Paper Fee Payment, for a list of exemptions.

๐Ÿ“Œ Tip: If you’re preparing to file or currently filing, check your payment method now to avoid delays or rejections.
